FAQs
We are often asked about the scope of what we do. Here are some common questions.
My mom fell last week, and I’m worried about her. Can you help me find someone to come in during the day while I’m at work?
Yes! This is a BIG part of what we do. We help you find the right people for the job, including helping you navigate background checks and preparing your home for employees. We are a resource for local caregiver companies as well as for private caregivers. We can assist with the interview process, too. It’s our goal that you be as comfortable as possible with the choices that you make.
As the primary caregiver for my disabled husband, I feel overwhelmed and isolated. I know there are support groups around, but I’m nervous about going by myself. Would you go with me?
Absolutely! Let me just get my calendar so we can arrange a time that works for both of us.
I work during the day, and I’m thinking about taking my dad to an adult day care so he’s not alone so much of the time. Will you go with us to tour some adult day centers, and give me your opinion?
Yes! We would love nothing more than to go with you. Loneliness in the aging population is of great concern to us, and it’s something we strive not only to bring awareness to, but also to actively combat. Finding the right fit for your dad does so much more than just give him something to do and you peace of mind.
I’ve got to do something about my current living situation, it’s just not safe for my wife any longer who is in the first stages of Alzheimer’s disease. I have everything I need to care for both of us, but we either need to make changes to our current home or consider moving. But I just don’t know where to start. Can you help?
YES! We would love to help. We can make safety recommendations on how to modify your current home, we can tour senior living communities together, we can view new homes more suited to your needs, or any combination of those things. Our overall goal is for you and your wife to be safe, happy, and together for as long as you can be.
My home is getting to be too much for me to manage, and I’m not getting any younger. I’m thinking of moving into an assisted living community, but I’m just not sure, and it all seems so overwhelming. I don’t really know what I need, what I need to do, what questions I need to ask, or even if this is the right decision for me. Will you go with me to tour some facilities? Will you give me your opinion about them?
YES! This is where we excel, and we would love to help you navigate this process. Sometimes the process is extremely overwhelming, and it’s incredibly beneficial to have a seasoned professional be your guide. It’s nice to have a second set of eyes and ears and a second gut when contemplating such a big decision. We will tour facilities with you, offering guidance along the way, asking questions on your behalf, and even making the appointments, if you’d like. When all is said and done, we will help you weigh the pros and cons until you are comfortable with your choice.
