Blount County Bright Future Award

I’m very excited to announce that C.C. Marston & Company has won this year’s Best of Blount Bright Future Award!

The Best of Blount Awards are given to individuals, and businesses, that give their time and resources to make Blount County a special place to live, work, and thrive. Here are some of my thoughts on community, gratitude, and the core reason I do what I do.

Transcript of the video:

Being nominated for the Best of Blount Bright Futures Award is incredibly exciting to me. I have lived in Blount County for going on six or seven years now. It’s incredibly encouraging, being a brand new business owner, that somebody in our community is really looking at me and sees value in what I have to bring – and being on this platform, maybe you can tell from my face how excited I am about being nominated.

Blount County is definitely where my foundation has been laid, and I’ve had such incredible support in this community. Through Sky City I’ve been able to meet so many helpful people. Strategically, I mean I couldn’t have put together the team around me had I tried purposefully. So foundationally, I would have to say that it all goes back to Sky City, however I’ve met some awesome people outside of that, through the Chamber, that really just want to see me succeed and have been great resources for me.

I feel like my business is giving back to the Blount County community, especially when I think about my target demographic, which is the 55-and-older crowd: retirees and their kids. Specifically for Blount County, the percentage of that demographic is 47%. A lot of folks don’t know what to do, what to ask, where to go, and that’s where my business comes in.

But the best for me is knowing that I have alleviated some pain or heartache from someone. Maybe they did end up having to go to a nursing home, but if they were able to really make an informed decision, or an informed choice, about where they decided to live, and were not surprised by anything, or did not get there and decide they hate it and then decided to move to another place, that to me is success.
